Dear Santa (My christmas list 2013)

Okay, now hold up. Stop, wait. Before you mock me for "believing" in this so called Santa Clause you Americans seem to be obsessed with, I do not believe in him. I never did. It was never a thing here where I come from. Sure we have decorations with the old man decked in all red but we never thought much of it. Honestly, this Santa Claus guy creeps me out. Nothing wrong with an old man stalking little children knowing their every move and then, they just come in your house through the chimney nonetheless, when every one is sleeping. Well, he leaves you with presents so 'its all good'.  Anyways, the point was to talk about my christmas list and here it is:

MY CHRISTMAS LETTER TO SANTA

Dear Santa Claus,

Hi, its me. People tell me you watch us all and you know what we do. I know I have never written to you before, but they say you bring the toys and treats we desire as long as we are good. Mr. Claus, I know this year, I have not been too good but I think I was not that bad right? Well, here is my list this year.

1. Mend all the broken hearts. Glue the shards of broken glass and dust back to make it seem like not even a crack was present. Allow these hearts to be able to open up and feel again.

2. Help the lonely find company. Allow them to find a friend or lover. Just someone. No one deserves to be alone during christmas.

3. Remove all the scars and cuts on wrist, legs, thighs, hips and other body parts. Take away not only their physical pain but emotional ones as well. Replace their self loathing adorned blades and lighters with a blanket of self love and acceptance.

4. Help those who avoid meals enjoy their meals. Take away the guilt they feel when eating. Allow the meals that end up in the toilets to stay in stomachs where they belong.

5. Give every girl, guy, man and woman a new mirror. Make sure its not broken and it is pure and innocent. Replace them with all the lying mirrors. Allow their owners to see themselves from within. Help them see their true beauty that is not measured by physique, weight or clothes but by their smiles and souls.

6. Help those who feel tired, sad, broken and down to have new hope. Allow them to feel loved, treasured and welcomed. Allow the sad to find pure bliss and happiness.

7. Bless the poor with money to survive this cruel world. Allow them to buy gifts for themselves as well as loved ones. Help the rich part with a tiny part of their fortune to make the year of someone without much.

8. Grant the ones who are grieving their closure. Help them know their loved ones are always with them and are watching, form a distance but watching.

9. Mend all broken relationships. Superglue the pieces back with forgiveness, acceptance and understanding. Make sure the glue is the best one and never, ever loses its stickiness.

10. Help those with irrational fears overcome them. Give them courage to rise above their fears. Help them see  that their fears are created by no one but themselves. Help them realise that they have the power to control it.

11. Allow the discriminated, abused and banished find their place of belonging. Remove all forms or prejudice and discrimination. Take away all biases and favouritism. Make the world a fair and just place. Teach us all that fairness is not giving everyone the same thing but giving everyone what they need and deserve.

12. Protect those who stand on the ledges, swallow too many pills or harmful substances or stand intentionally in harms way. Convince them that its not so bad here. Whisper words or encouragement and tell them how much the are loved.  Make all those people who encourage them to do it stop.

Mr. Claus, I know that my list is a long one and I know that many other children have also asked for gifts. I really hope you can deliver all these gifts. My Christmas would be made if all my Christmas wishes came true. Take care Mr. Claus.

                                                                                                                                                    Leah.
